Our mission is to provide safe and affordable housing to girls and women beginning at age 17, helping them transition from homelessness to permanent housing and empowering them to become homeowners, achieve successful careers, and lead productive lifestyles. We believe that everyone deserves a place to call home, and we are committed to making that a reality for the residents and community.

Compassionate Care

Our faith calls us to serve others with love and compassion. We strive to embody these principles in all aspects of our work, ensuring that every resident feels valued and supported. Galatians 6:2. "Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ."

We are committed to operating with integrity and honesty, maintaining transparency in our actions and communications. These principles build trust within the community and with our partners. Psalm 15:2: "He who walks blamelessly and does what is right and speaks truth in his heart."

Encouragement

Faith encourages us to uplift and empower individuals, helping them realize their potential. We provide resources and opportunities that enable residents to achieve independence and success. Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight"

Community & Fellowship

Our faith emphasizes the importance of community and fellowship. We foster a sense of belonging and connection among residents, creating a supportive network that enhances their quality of life. Acts 2:42 "They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.".

What does HER Homes Offer?

Our Tailored Transitional Curriculum will include:

We will create personalized transition plans for each individual, taking into account they're individual goals, strengths, and challenges. These plans will provide clear steps and resources for a smoother transition to independence. Each resident will have up to 24 months to achieve their goals with an additional 2 months for housing placement. Studies show that 80% of individuals that are in a stable environment and has consistent supportive services, an individual can get on their feet and sustain.

Peer Support Networks:

Establishing peer support groups will allow youth to connect with others who have similar experiences. This community will foster a sense of belonging and provide emotional support during the transition period.

Dedicated Transition Coaches:

We will assign transition coaches to work one-on-one with aging-out youth. These coaches will provide guidance, support, and advocacy, helping youth navigate the complexities of independent living.

Resources:

We have created the proper resources that offer access to information about housing, education, employment, and health services that will empower our residents and community to make informed decisions as they prepare to leave the program equipped and ready for life.

Housing Assistance Programs:

Our initiative will include partnerships with local housing authorities to provide affordable housing options for our residents. This will ensure they have a stable place to live as they transition to independence.

Employment Readiness Training:

We will offer job training programs that focus on resume building, interview skills, and workplace etiquette. This will prepare our residents for the job market and help them secure sustainable employment.

Continued Educational Engagement:

We will collaborate with educational institutions to facilitate continued access to education, including high school completion programs and vocational training for youth who may have faced educational disruptions.

Mentorship Opportunities:

Pairing our residents with mentors from various fields will provide guidance and encouragement, helping them set and achieve educational and career goals.

Life Skills Workshops:

Our program will include workshops that cover essential life skills such as budgeting, cooking, and time management. These skills are crucial for successful independent living.

Health and Wellness Education:

Providing education on physical and mental health resources will empower youth to take charge of their well-being as they transition into adulthood.
